Here is a good one. I registered the domain Leggies.com in 2001. I received an offer through DNS recently, the buyer did not like my asking price so he said he was filing a TM on the word Leggies and that once that was done I won’t be able to do much with the name and the value would decrease instantly and he would file a UDRP. He said if I did not accept his offer he would let the UDRP deal with the matter once the TM process is done. Smells like the makings of an RDNH to me. Here is his message to my broker and his info:
Dear Andrew,
thank you for your fast and prompt replay.
as we speak i am on the process of trademarking the name “Leggies” in Europe and the US.
once this process is done your seller wont be able to do much with this name and its value will decrease instantly.
you must know that. i am a very realistic men making very realistic offers and as one i will be willing to move one step closer to your seller and give him my last offer- 800$. other wise i will find a different domain for now, and let the UDRP deal with this matter once the trademark process is done.
king regards,
Dror

I think TURDS like this guy need their own listing page.
Does he really want to risk this?

I hope so, I could use the publicity…
I get this type of letter about 10 times a year.
I suggest a strong response back stating the law and letting them know whoever advised them that they could use a newly registered trademark to take away a 10 year old domain is the one they should be suing, not you
Sounds like, “Premeditated Reverse Domain Name Hijacking”. I would recommend that his penalty and fees be doubled to match his audacity.
As my grandad would say – if bullsh*t were music, this guy would be a brass band. He has fishhooks in his pocket and because he doesn’t have the money he is taking a shot in hopes that you just fell off the turnip truck.
Glad to see you are calling him out. So many people don’t take the time to learn about domain values before making idle threats. The recent post by Michael Berkins on dead beat buyers is fantastic and Rick’s RDNH posts are really great for the industry as well.
Being a d**k is an interesting way to conduct business. I’ve never been one for it. I do everything I can to make sure I don’t conduct business with these kind of people. It’s important to always remember that the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.

LOL, thanks for that Ian…
I had some guy also from Israel come through Afternic for one of my generics a few months ago (I own the .com and .org). He didn’t like my price either. The very next day he registers the .net and .co and then files a trademark for the term. Meanwhile, the domain has been in active registration since 2006 and I’ve owned it since 2011. Scumbags. I look forward to his attempt to steal the domain.
I’m never surprised at the shit people will pull to get something for nothing………….
My billions $$$$ taxes sent to Israel every year is supporting his family and his lifestyles.
Ouch…hand that feeds his mouth is biting ….

I think you ought to quadruple the price for this piece of scum.
These slimy toads want something for nothing.
RDNH for sure.

That guy doesn’t even have a clue of TM basics, that’s crystal clear … and, by the way, as of today, there are no pending applications or valid TMs with that applicant name for the term “Leggies”, neither in EU (Source: OHIM), nor in the US (Source: USPTO).
…
He’s just pathetic …
