This morning .solutions, .builders, .training, .support, and .email went in to the 5th day of the Early Access Program, which means the non premiums went from about $600 yesterday to $150 today, they will stay at this price point for the next 3 days, most of the best domains in these extensions will get picked up at this price point if they were not already picked up for more, or reserved. I had a list of about a dozen names I liked in these extensions, all of them were picked up today and yesterday, I did decide to get a few at today’s price point but most I passed on.
When I do decide to get new gTLDs I look to see how often the term is searched and how many ads are paid for using the term, but my best criteria, besides a few I got for possible projects or personal obsessions, is how often is the term used in other domains, especially other domains that are actual websites, I mean the full term left and right of the dot, the domains I got today are each used in over 1000 other registered domain names. You can find this info at NameDroppers.com, I forgot to list them on my “services I use” post the other day, oops.
One of the domains I got because the word left of the dot was registered or reserved in every other extension I checked, which was 140 extensions, the only extension that still had this word available this morning was the one I got, and the word fits with the extension, that helped seal the deal for me, it is not like trees.bike or something silly like this, and like I said the word I got plus the extension, the term singular and plural, is used in over 1000 registered domain names, so guess what I got lol.
On another note, I also search through lists of new gTLDs to see what is getting picked up and what is not, I thought I might start listing some I find available that are decent enough names if you are into these things, I looked through some .menu and .recipes, cooking and recipe sites are big on the internet you know, here are some I found available, if you register any of these send me a dollar, lol just kidding:
Barista.menu, Cookie.menu, Crepe.menu, Future.menu, Quiche.menu, Bistro.recipes, Creole.recipes, Culinary.recipes, Egyptian.recipes, Flavor.recipes, MacAndCheese.recipes, MacaroniAndCheese.recipes, Macaroni.recipes, Pollo.recipes, Quiche.recipes…

Domain of the day: DailyListings.com – Make me an Offer!
Thanks for looking…
Just show success is not pure luck, but a lot of research etc. Thanks Mark.
Not sure if you’ve already answered my question yesterday. Can you add an option to follow a blog and get an email when new comments come in, just like the many other domain blogs (eg. DomainInvesting.com) that I read?
Sorry Kassey, I am looking into the comment notification email thing. And success, we will see, I have to sell something or make a successful website before I can claim success with a new gTLD, but I do research before I invest, we will see how that works out for me…
Thanks. Look forward to the email notification, which is very useful for me to keep track of conversations on multiple blogs.
I like your humility.
Mark can I have your opinion on .US domains ?
That is a hard one Mike, I like .us domains, I am a US citizen after all, and I started my blog here on Dots.us, it is a sweet short extension imo, the only problem is I could never sell any, I have had some decent .us names and never had any significant sales or offers, hardly any inquiries. I still get some sometimes because they are only $5 but I never sell any, maybe with all these new gTLDs they will get more accepted but that might be a while or wishful thinking, it is a mystery to me…
Thanks for mentioning namedroppers, just added to my tool list.
I’m surprised you lost sight of one of the biggest financial keywords on your gtld extension sitting unregistered, and it a actually works with the extension. Looks like less interested parties this week, or people feeling the pinch of premum
Registrations.
The suspense is killing me?
KPack.com, sure someone down the line’ll want it .
