I’ve started to have a few problems with these.

Take one of the names you list: vacation.house

The old argument was that vacation.house is better than vacationhouse.com.

This seems reasonable but now I’m not so sure, but I’m keeping an open mind.

    The conversation goes like this:

“Honey, did you book the Vacation House?”

It does not go “Honey did you book the Vacation dot House?”

Yes I know you don’t say “did you book the Vacation House dot com” – but the dot com rolls off the tongue, don’t you think?

It’s as unlikely as “vacation dash house” so maybe we have had some precedence for these.

So is it: “50 in da club” not “50 in da dot club”.

Please note I am a believer in new TLDs, I have lived them for the last few months and enjoyed it, and I am keeping a very open mind on these, there is a massive shortage of good domains, and we need something.

It’s just there’s far too many of them, too quickly. And now this new thing is really putting me off.

You make perfect rational sense, there is a glut, and all these names are sitting with high premiums, which go higher every round.

Most of us have big development dreams which deep down we know isn’t going to happen, so next year when asked for my annual $500 renewal, and a 0 YTD return from the gtld purchase, history will rewrite itself.

Maybe 50 cent will become the official spokesperson for GTLD’s.

I think vacationhouse.com is the best and always will be…

What is the premium renewal on site.builders, $250 a year?

  3. Travis says:

Going to upload a video of you speaking at Traffic? :)

    • Mark says:

Yes but with all the drinks people have promised to buy me it will probably be me speaking in tongues at the bar and not speaking about new gTLDs…
