Wow, great read. I mean really, thank you for writing about your experience. It became easier to imagine myself there and now wished I was.

Epic post! Glad to hear you had a blast.

Wow you clean up great. The was an excellent piece of reporting. I felt like I was there. One question though, you are in NA but you drink?

    • Mark says:

I am not really in NA Owen, but I have been before and I remember the coffee, in reality I don’t do drugs anymore (maybe a little legal weed here and there), and I don’t drink much, these days just a little wine. I did have a few drinks in Vegas though, nothing crazy, but when in Rome…

  4. Mark says:

    Great reporting Mark.

I enjoyed it and laughed out loud a few times.

    Thanks.

No judgments here (especially) always gets laugh when people say things like “you ought to move to Chicago.. the weight watchers program here lets you eat unlimited pizza”

  6. Kassey says:

Great report. Thanks Mark. I’m surprised you looked very serious in the photos. Was it really you? Hey, how did you keep your non-domaining family members entertained during the conference? Did they just go out to do their own things?

    • Mark says:

I am serious lol, and if it wasn’t really a photo of me I would have picked somebody that looked younger.

And my family loved the conference, they have all heard me talking about domains before obviously, like constantly, so they were interested to finally hear what others had to say about them, they were all impressed with the entrepreneurial spirit of everybody, so many down to earth successful people, and to think that basically none of this even existed 20 years ago, it’s an impressive, exciting industry.

But they did skip some seminars and check out more of Vegas than I did…

  7. brand says:

Wow, very nice post mark, i just wish i considered myself a successful domainer, instead of a fool that buys domains.
It really sounds like a lot of fun and i know i would have loved to be apart of it all.
You said such nice things about everyone, but what you said about Michael Cyger was really nice, of course i don’t know him other than watching the sherpa show but he seems like that kind of guy.
Well, i think your parents can now understand what you do for a living after TRAFFIC, my parents think i should join a gambling anonymous meeting to kick my habit..lol.

  8. It was a great conference, and a real treat to meet you and your family in person.

  9. That is a great article! You obviously spent a lot of time on it and we thank you. I must say I did not realize you with the shorter hair. Glad to have met you and spoken with you on our panel. See you in Florida.

  10. Great post! Really enjoyed reading out. Thanks for sharing Mark :)

Great write-up Mark. I’m UK based and have been considering 1 event to attend next year and after reading your post I’m definitely going to attend T.R.A.F.F.I.C. in 2015. Hopefully I’ll get to meet you and all the other other guys I look up to in this exciting business.

  13. Danny Pryor says:

Great update, Mark. I’m one of those who did not recognize you at first. With everyone cutting their hair, I’m under more pressure, dammit! LOL! I’m really glad you enjoyed yourself, and I hope to see you at the Fontainebleau for the 10th Anniversary Show! :)

    • Mark says:

Keep the hair Danny, it looks great and your the soundman, the soundman should have long hair imo.

Anyway I am embarrassed and ashamed I forgot to mention you in my post, I used to do sound for bands so I know how much work and technical expertise in involved, it looks fun but it’s a job, I know it’s not easy getting rid of that feedback when you have a half a dozen open mics in the room, but you did just that, and you did such a great job behind the scenes I completely forgot to mention it, but it is definitely worth mentioning.

I said Ron Jackson was the hardest working person at the show, I have to add Danny Pryor to that list, he does the sound for every single function and makes sure the video cam is rolling so every moment is documented and captured on film, he was working the whole time.

Wonderful post Mark! A very nice post. Thank you
“The next morning was the Power Brunch at 9:00am, if brunch is at 9am when do these people eat breakfast, 4:30am?” LMAO

    Mark,
It was wonderful to meet you. I am sorry I did not get a chance to meet your family. Great detailed write up.

    Mark,
    Great write up!
It was a great conference, and I had a very good time meeting new friends and hanging out with old friends.
It was wonderful to have dinner with your lovely family!

Mark, Great reporting! You have a gift as a writer. My apologies for not getting the wine to your parents before they left to see you in Las Vegas. I’ll figure out how to get it out to your home state. Still figuring out how to monetize lobstercard.com and 1800medicine.com (and the phone number).
