You choose to use sedo, if you were at DNS then the buyer would be pointed to that platform as they have no other options.

    • Mark says:

Good point Mike. What is crazy is the domain is pointed to and Parked at DNS but still the buyer chose to offer at Sedo, I always just listed my names at all these places but maybe I should remove them from Sedo and if these people really want the name they can whois me or offer at DNS…

      • MikeS says:

Agreed or use a service like Godaddy Buy Service and cover all the commissions, if they are shy, and do not want to interact, or expose themselves most have already cut sedo when they integrated with godaddy.

DomainTools might have led them there, or they might want to shield who they really are, in terms of you asking more money, not sure.

  2. “maybe I should remove them from Sedo and if these people really want the name they can whois me or offer at DNS”.
Exactly Mark, otherwise all parties who want to stay anonymous will keep hitting you on Sedo, which has the technical/policy issues you are mentioning.

We don’t use Sedo anymore, no transparency about the potential buyers.
On Voodoo we have full details, and we self-broker all the time. 😉

    My domain of the day:
    WorkColleges.com (Work Colleges)
Work Colleges graduates enter the workforce prepared with a wealth of experience, robust life skills and reduced or no debt.
    It’s a win-win concept! :)

  3. I hate sedo there system sucks I put three offers in and month later they get back to me and said buyer hasn’t responded to any of my offers so what’s the use of offering never even got a counter offer.

    My domain pick is immersesex.com

  4. Mike H says:

It doesn’t matter where you’re negotiating… an offer isn’t valid forever. Once you counter the ball is in the buyer’s court and they are free to walk even if you decide later on to ‘accept’ their initial offer.

SEDO stands for Suck E Do

    hate hate Sedo

I use Vodoooo and my parking revenue gone up every month.

    • Hey bulls what’s voodoo like for parking have mine at sedo for last few weeks I have 4000 unique visits for grand total of $3 US dollars have signed with voodoo but haven’t put them there yet many thanks Shane

      • Shane,
Sedo parking is awful, if you move to Voodoo you will certainly see tangible improvements, also because their payout is much higher (as far as we know, revenue share is 95% at Voodoo vs approx 50% at Sedo. Even if I have to say that Sedo payout in our experience looked even lower than that).

      • BullS says:

When parked at Sedo, it gets only $5/mth , now at Voodoo, it gets as high at $$$$/mth

go figure and it is 4L domain and it is a porn site

  6. Yes, like everyone said Sedo system is not flexible in this case.

anyhow, they will comeback with $20k offer for sure mate.

    Mark,

You probably know this already; after canceled negotiations, when you change the domain listing to a BIN, the buyer will be notified so he/she will be able to buy at their highest offer.

A couple weeks ago, I was in the exact same situation as you when I countered and buyer canceled. Then, when I set the BIN at their last offer, they bought it within a couple of hours.

    • Jeroen says:

ps. don’t forget to change the nameservers to sedo before you do this. It changes the commission in your benefit.
