I am going to expand on yesterday’s post. When Rick bought Properties.com most new domain investors didn’t have $60k to buy one domain, I certainly didn’t. So most whinned about it and said life wasn’t fair, got jealous of Rick, and made comments like “I wish I had been as ‘lucky’ as Rick”, “if you don’t have $60k to invest you can’t make any money”, “it’s too late”, “game over”, “all the opportunities are behind us”, “all the good domains are gone”, this was the resounding chorus many were singing at the time and it is still a popular tune today. Most didn’t take Rick’s simple advice, I did.
I didn’t have $60k so I looked for opportunities that were available that I could afford to take advantage of and I bought domains for $500 or so, many of which have sold for $10k plus, and made parking income. Anyone with almost any budget could have done this (and still can). $100 to $1000 domains that could have made 1000’s to 100’s of 1000’s by now.
I strongly believe this is happening right now and at every moment but you have to believe it to see it. The same pattern is happening at every level. I think if you realize this and work it you can start with $500 to $5k domains and work your way to $100k domains, right now today, not 15 years ago. As a matter of fact I think this is a great time for buying if you have some capital or credit.
I see lots of very successful domain investors that started long after I did and have done much better than I have. They worked the opportunities that were there at the time. They didn’t whine about the ghosts of opportunities past. A few friends and I were at an art showing a while back and we were looking at what looked like a very simple painting that had sold for 6 figures. One of my friends said “I could have painted that”, my other friend commented, “sure you could have, but you didn’t”. To be continued…

Mortio is an established restaurant in London. Highly likely the name is trademarked.
TRIFECTION: “To submit oneself to the influence of three mind-altering substances simultaneously, particularly alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine.” I wouldn’t advertise this one on Facebook.
