For your transaction issue, you can buy escrowpro.com and use it for your sales transaction……ha ha

    • Mark says:

EscrowPro.com is mine bro, I liked the rhyme. I need to develop it to solve my problems is more like it. But there are legitimate reasons they do not accept CC’s on transactions above $5k so I have no issues with Escrow.com, it’s just one of those things…

  2. Had the same thing awhile back Mark, client said only way I am paying is by credit card. So I countered with well pay me $2500 for the domain, and then next week we will do another deal for a reg fee domain for $2500. I did not care about the reg fee domain and would have just given it away.

Funny thing is this was not even my domain but the domain of a client so I was not even making the $5,000 just working for the client to come up with an idea to get the sale done, the client was totally clueless.

He later said I will do a bank wire.

Thanks for the comment Raymond. The thing is, IMO, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of a smooth safe escrow transaction when you have to start getting too creative, but I have gotten creative with crazy things like this many times.

    • Mark says:

Thanks again for the creative ideas, I decided to go with your suggestion. I looked and the .org of the domain was available so I hand reg’d it at Dynadot so I could delete it if plan b did was not acceptable to the buyer, but he agreed to it and was even pleased he would be getting the .org of the domain also, lol. So thanks once again.

  3. Guy says:

    use ecop.com
I use them instead of escrow.com now
escrow are good but safety checks aren’t as good as ecop and ecop is really cheap
buyers can pay by paypal or card

  4. Guy says:

on a sidenote Mark, how the hell can you use domaining to list your blog and be unaware of ecop which is owned by the same guy lol
and advertised over homepage much of time
ecop is free under $500 too
few months ago had a buyer who was dyed in wool american escrow.com buyer wouldn’t use ecop even though far safer and cheaper
since then had 2 enduser sales more than happy to use them

  5. Guy says:

hang on a minute, last post and I swear i have no connections to ecop
you have a huge banner for exop at top of your page
    (scroll up)
now you really look stupid lol

    • Mark says:

I know about eCop Guy, I have used them, and I am aware of the banner at the top of my site, Francois will appreciate your pointing out my stupidity. eCop also has rules on CC vs Wire Transfer depending on the amount, and this isn’t a $500 transaction.

Also not every buyer is comfortable using just any payment or escrow options so that can be an issue. Just as somebody might have no problem paying me with Paypal for something but won’t open a Paxum account to pay me, the same holds true for escrow services.

  6. Alan says:

Thanks Mark, always a great list. Your blog is one of a few I look forward to.

    • Mark says:

Thank you Alan, I often wonder: If a blog posts in the blogosphere, and no one reads it, does it make a sound? So thanks for reading…

  7. Mike says:

Have you noticed that it is ProjectManagment.org and not ProjectManagement.org ? (A typo)

  8. irfan says:

Mark, good info and a nice tip by Raymond. Seems, project management by org too seems to be worthy.
